SPONSOR A KAH EVENT
You can host a Kids Against Hunger packaging event to prepare the high-nutrition food which will keep kids around the world from starving. Any gathering is a good place for this service project. After you raise the funds for the ingredients, we bring all supplies and equipment to your location. We have been to schools, churches, clubs, homes for Christmas parties and get togethers, and scouting activities.

SEWING PROJECTS
WGLO has several sewing projects that will bring joy and show God's Love to children around the world.
Here are some of them:
DRESSES
Girls in the villages of Uganda wear only skirts and dresses - no shorts, jeans, pants. So we have been encouraging anyone interested to sew a new dress for a girl from any pattern, about a girls size 12-16. We will hand deliver any dresses you make. See what a difference your love can make?
Girl in Kawete, Uganda - April 2011

Hanifa gave a beautiful smile for the lady who made this dress for her - April 2011

School Bags
We are accepting a big challenge of sewing 560 school bags for all the students at Christ Community Lutheran School - Kawete, Uganda. Completed bags will be hand carried to Uganda March 2012 or October 2012. Click here for sewing instructions.
Reusable Sanitary Kits for Girls
We inquired in Uganda why many girls were not in school. Some of the reasons included: fetching water, caring for younger siblings, and boys in the family were given priority to attend school. Another reason given was when girls reach puberty, they drop out of school due to being absent 1-2 weeks a month.
We have been sewing these Kits for Girls for several years now and hand carrying them to Uganda. Our field coordinator conducts classes for the girls on the health and care of their bodies, and she supplies them with a kit.
We seem to never have enough of these kits. If you are looking for a very needed and unique sewing project, please click here for sewing instructions.
During an October 2011 visit to Christ Community Lutheran School in Kawete, Uganda, we noticed that Azena left her Primary 4 class to find Violet, WGLO project coordinator. Luckily, we had just brought in sanitary kits, and Violet was able to supply Azena with a kit and supplies, and she was able to return to class. Without the kit, she would have gone home and probably not returned to class for a week or more - and maybe not returned at all. Azena said, "Thank you to the lady who made this for me."
